Learning

November 4, 2010

I enjoy learning new things, I guess only when I’m learning something that my mind can narrow and focus on just one thing. One sole thing.
It’s quite a calming and nice feeling to have to not have the other voices and other problems constantly screaming for attention.
That’s why I love driving, I pay attention to the speed limit, to the pedals, to making judgements, to the drone of my instructor’s chat about india and other stories. I also enjoy learning skating this year. I’m thinking about my legs, my movements, balancing.
No boys, no familial politics and no complications of the world.

Is that why you enjoy playing games too? It is not as healthy as learning a new skill.
Denise said that as we grow older we no longer acquire new skills, so I thought that if we never give up learning, it’ll save us from dementia and help us stay in tune with our body. Learning new things is very enjoying. I really like driving around the estate, cars here are very forgiving too.

My driving instructor looks like the driving dude in Happy Go Lucky, only he’s older and extremely zen. I would like to think that I’m like Poppy, but I can’t channel all the difficulties I face in life into that joyfulness of hers. Tonight’s my screening and I’m glad I’ve decided to go, although the plan was to have a beer before arriving (personal plan). Also, it helps that no one on my film is gonna be there, so there isn’t the need to smile.

Learning is great way to relax. Some people like to travel which is awesome as well.
As long as it is healthy.
